We apologize for being out of touch since our last record “Strength in Numbers” and our last tour with Interpol, late ’07. We had decided after five records it was time for us to take a little hiatus and concentrate on personal lives and individual projects.
Here are our updates, Thanks to the fans who have stayed in touch,
and for the continued interest and support.
-TEAM CALLA
Most of 2008 was spent working on my ambient
project "Highway Robbery". The album was constructed
using samples culled exclusively from an old found
reel-to-reel tape of a marching band competition from the
1970s. The CD, entitled "There's Always
Light at
the End of the Tunnel for Those Who
Squint as Hard as We
Do" will be released on
Arena Rock Recordings in Fall
2009. The track "Dual City" from my "tenEcke"
project (featuring Peter Gannon) was used in independent
German film "Dr. Aleman" (directed by Tom Schreiber)
released August 2008. So far, I've spent 2009 at home
enjoying the company of my wife and newborn daughter,
Romy Belle.
myspace.com/wayneb160I have been producing and recording other people's music and projects. I
continue to write and record as Mercova with collaborator and wife Daphne
Gannon with a periodic live show. Also, I have working on video/sound
installation with artist Ryan Glenn to be shown in
San Francisco summer
2009.
